Lehner Earns First Shutout as a Sabre in Win Against Blue Jackets

Kyle here to recap last night's game for those of you who missed it. TL;DR below:

Sabres blank Jackets, 4-0. Lehner saves big. McGinn scores twice. Legwand scores crazy field goal.

Last night the Sabres attempted to extend their point streak last night against Columbus and came out victorious. Jamie McGinn scored twice in the game, with Reinhart capping off the scoring. The story of the night was the 149 foot shot that David Legwand made to clear the puck from the Sabres zone during a PK...and ended up scoring. Watch it below.

You could tell while watching, however, that the Blue Jackets were feeling the heat of a shutout. The players were getting very physical, especially towards the middle and end of the game.  With a total of 15 penalties on the game, both teams shoved, pushed, and fought. Even Lehner got fired up in the fray, bearing his "teeth".

Needless to say this game was a positive example of the Sabres playing a mostly full game. With a slow start in the 1st, they gained momentum once the goals started rolling and play got physical.  This was a Sabres team that everyone loved to watch.
