Bills 22, Jets 17: THR's 2-Point Conversion

This was Thursday Night Football all right, with two underprepared teams making a lot of mistakes and creating a lot of drama along the way.  But of course the night was colorful in another way too with both teams wearing brightly colored jerseys as part of the NFL's color rush.  And now The Herd Reports's panel gives you some color commentary...

  1. Ronald Darby was the best cornerback on the field tonight, in a game that included Darelle Revis and Stephon Gilmore. The kid is easily the defensive rookie of the year, and one of the better corners in the league. Yet another great game.
  2. This was a must win game, and the Bills found a way. I don't care if that's all we ever do-- find a way to win. I'll take it all the way to the playoffs. We're sitting at 5-4, in the first wild card spot and preparing for a Monday night game against the Patriots on heavy rest. Should be a fun game.

  1. I was ready to cash the season in late in that 4th Q. Thought all hope was lost. Now, we are in the drivers seat for a wild card position. It'll be nice to relax on a Sunday for once...
  2. McCoy was the reason we moved the ball. If Whaley doesn't make that trade in the offseason, I'm not so sure we win that game. The collection of talent that Whaley has aquired was on full display. I liked the way Graham and Brown played. Now we have one of the best secondaries in the game with the continual emergence of Darby. Nice luxary to have Leodis back as well. How about no first round pick for Whaley but Darby, Miller, and K. Williams paying huge divedends!!! Experts said we had a poor draft. Ha!

  1. What a freaking color rush that game was. But seriously, as I said before the game the field looked like a Christmas Tree. Not a fan of the color rush. What I am a fan of is game winning interceptions! I like those a lot.
  2. I watched this game in Jets territory in Midtown Manhattan, NYC. Not much is better than cheering on the Bills (may I remind you the only team that actually plays in New York State), in Jets territory. It felt extra special because all the Jets fans in NYC hate Rex. That being said we still have a long way to go before we are a playoff caliber team. But it's a step and it's a win against the Jets, so hey, I'll take it!

  1. I think the most important thing that may come out of this game is that we may have found a ball hawking safety that can play with Aaron Williams when he returns. Williams was very good when he had Jairus Byrd next to him and if Rambo can play that good of a compliment to him, we may have a very underrated safety corps going into December along with our two stud CBs.
  2. Normally I hate Thursday night games because it takes so long for the next game to get here. However, If we have any chance of knocking off the undefeated Patriots next Monday night, this little "mini bye" could be the reason. Extra time for film study, game preparation, and getting healthy is very underrated in the NFL. Let's hope Rex uses this time wisely. Go Bills.

  1. I found it very interesting that the NFL would disregard people with red-green color blindness for the sake of the Color Rush.
  2. Best thing to come out of last night's game (besides a Bills win) is definitely this gif.
