Sabres re-sign Deslauriers

The Sabres have re-signed forward Nic Deslauriers to a two-year contract worth $1.275 million and an annual cap hit of $637,500. The contract is a one-way deal which means he would have to clear waivers in order to go to Rochester.

The 6'1'' left winger was a pleasant surprise after being sent from Los Angeles in the Brayden McNabb deal. Deslauriers, 23, scored once in 17 games however it was his energy and motor that Sabres fans identified with. A solid checker who can fight, the jury is still out as to how much he can contribute on a night-to-night basis. It seems the Sabres are willing to find out.
